Keys Returned Receipt

A receipt confirming the return of all keys at the end of a tenancy — cross-referenced against the Key Receipt Log issued at check-in. Records any keys not returned and supports deposit deduction claims.

Keys Returned Receipt

Complete at check-out and cross-reference against the Key Receipt Log from the start of the tenancy.

What to Record:

  • Property address and tenancy end date
  • Tenant name(s)
  • Each key type returned: front door, back door, garage, post box, communal
  • Number of copies returned for each key type
  • Date and time of return
  • Tenant signature confirming keys returned
  • Landlord / agent signature confirming receipt

If Keys Are Not Returned:

  • Note which keys are missing and how many copies
  • Obtain quotes for lock replacement if security is compromised
  • Include replacement cost in deposit deduction schedule
  • Attach to deposit return letter with evidence
